I have been reading an awful lot about Chris Anderson’s new book Free: The Future of a Radical Price. Here is a really interesting case study about a golf course of all places that is instituting a variation of this idea.
If a golf course can profit from this way of thinking, why couldn’t other similar business models adapt? Every time a plane flies from New York to LA the airline pays staff, gas, runway fees, etc.. Regardless of whether one person is on the flight or 100 people are on it.
I know the answer is a lot more complicated than that, but an interesting idea none the less.
